Initials in a Tree Wedding Card

wedding card, stampin up, rustic wedding

I needed a wedding card for a hip couple, and I didn't want the typical silver bells and white flowers look.  I think I've done a similar card before, and I'm pretty sure Jenny posted a cute anniversary or Valentine's Day version of some initials carved in a tree.

For today's card, I stamped the initials on the card base using the Alphabet Rotary stamp.  Then, I placed my wood grained layer (4"x 5 1/4") over the top, and marked on the back about where I needed my heart to be cut out.  After I cut the heart out, I centered it over the initials, and then trimmed that layer down to be 3 3/4" x 5".  Before adhering to the card base, I sponged the grain with Soft Suede and wrapped the twine around.  I also drew the 'plus' sign (is a + still a plus or is it some kind of tag?) and arrow by hand.

Happy Wedding, Hedy + Craig!!!
