Spring Nest

HAPPY SPRING!!  It's official, don't know if ya'll are feeling it for real yet, but we had very beautiful first day of spring here in North Carolina.  The recent icy, crappy weather had me indoors crafting away, the only silver lining to that kind of weather.  Awhile ago, I got my hands on an old box spring mattress that was stripped down to its rusty guts.  Every once in a while the mood strikes, and I get out the needle nose pliers and the wire cutters, and create something cute from that rusty mess that my husband is kind enough to let me keep in his domain.

The nest might have been pretty cute without the vintage postcard tag, but then I might not have a reason to tell you about it on this blog!

Lots of stamped layers and a little sponging got me to that vintage look.
