Casing when the casing ain't easy

As Deena and I were playing -- I mean -- prepping for my January class, she found this GORGEOUS design that we wanted to borrow from. Isn't it cute?

Unfortunately, I didn't have the inks Jill used, or the Simply Stars stamp set. (Confession? I ordered it. It is right now on the way to my house. This is what happens when things are cute.) So, we improvised! My version uses a big and little star that we found in the new Perfect Pennants and Banner Blast sets, respectively ... and some slightly different ink colors.

The moral of the story? If you love a design, see how you can remake it with things you already have. You may be surprised at how cute your own creation is!

Paper and card:
  • Crumb Cake base
  • Whisper White, cut to 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Whisper White scraps for the tag
Stamp sets:
  • Banner Blast (Sale-a-bration)
  • Perfect Pennants (Occasions mini-catalog)
  • Chalk Talk
  • Gorgeous Grunge
  • Lucky Limeade (retired)
  • Marina Mist
  • Chalk Talk Framelits
  • Twine
  • Dimensionals

After viewing the original, I must say I actually like yours better! :) I like the big and little stars better than all the same with different patterns! TFS!
