Falling leaves? Make a wish!

My friend Barb accidentally ordered a die she already had. Lucky for me, it was on my wish list, so I snatched it right out of her hands! These fall leaves make WONDERFUL accents for Thanksgiving tables and autumn wreaths, but they also came together to make this birthday card for an October-born friend.

Where did I get that background paper that looks like birch? It's part of the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created kit -- but I repurposed it from a wrapped gift (really, if you HAND me something so wonderful, it's going to end up on a card).

How can you turn life's lemons into gifts? Maybe you can find some lucky serendipity in your own day today. That's the wish I'm making for you :-).
