Sunshine -- and shadows



Last week, I told you I had a great example of the difference a little sponging can make. I started with a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches that was a little more complex than I usually use. I pulled out my favorite (this week) DSP, and started to play with the colors and components. Here's the result:



I didn't like this card. It's OKAY, but it doesn't come together like it should. Not even a desperation brad was making it right!

So.

I let it sit.

On my desk.

For a week.

I stared at this card every day and could NOT figure out what it needed. Until I posted last week's card and had the greatest eureka moment of all time. SPONGING!! Sponging helps pop layers of DSP like magic -- AND it helps unify different patterns and colors.

A little card surgery, some mad sponging, and a little reconstruction, and this card is now something I can show you all.

Ingredients
Ink:
  • Basic Grey, Tangerine Tango
Stamp sets:
  • Feel Goods
  • Reason to Smile
Paper and card:
  • Very Vanilla card base 
  • This and That Epic Day DSP
Accessories:
  • This and That Epic Day washi tape
  • Everyday Enchantment brad
  • Daubers (I edged each punched piece to unify the papers) 
  • Dimensionals
