Inspired by paper

When I sit down to make a card, I rarely have a complete plan in mind. I usually know who the card is for and the occasion, but then I'm left to find inspiration where I can. Today's card layout was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest (thank YOU, Nancy Riley), but was really completed by the designer series paper (DSP) I chose.

I sat down with the paper pack and laid out combinations until I found two that I liked together. Then I picked out a neutral and a dark from the colors used in the pack to complete the design.

I then found a sentiment that echoes the pattern in the left-hand piece (THAT was a happy accident).

This card is simple but stunning in real life -- and the layout itself is easy. I've made several more using the "2 patterns, one color, one neutral" model and have been really happy with them. Give it a try and let me know how yours come out!
