Vintage Verses & the "Perfect" Card

Today's card uses a mix of old and new items.  I wanted to use Stampin' Up!'s new doilies and make a card that could be used as a Valentine's Day or an Anniversary card.  I didn't want to use the typical Valentine's Day color combinations of red, pink, white or vanilla so I decided to use the Twitterpated DSP.  It gave me a color combination that wasn't too feminine or too masculine...a good mix.  Since the Chalkboard technique is very popular right now in papercrafting, I decided to add my greeting in Versamark and White Embossing Powder.  At first I had tried this card with a black top layer to make it look more like a chalkboard but the colors of the Twitterpated DSP didn't look as well with the black card stock.  So I switched it to a Basic Gray card stock and I really like how it turned out.  I hope this card gives you some ideas on what to make for that special someone in your life for Valentine's Day or an upcoming Anniversary.  Enjoy!
