Magnificent Monday

Magnificent Monday Guest: Beth Coburn!
I wanted to share with you an idea using the Patterned Occasions set. This is an adorable stamp set that's perfect to use for lots of occasions and is currently in the Sale-a-bration promotion.

Isn't that elephant just adorable? I used my favorite technique, Emboss Resist. Have you ever tried this technique? If not, once you learn the steps, you'll be hooked. Here are the simple steps:
  1. Run an embossing buddy over card stock where you'll be stamping. This takes off any static that may be on your paper so that the emboss powder sticks only to the inked image.
  2. Ink stamp with Versamark ink on Whisper White card stock. Pour Clear emboss powder over image and tap off excess.
  3. Using a heat tool, heat the image until it's clear and shiny. Since it's clear emboss on white it will not show up well, but that's o.k.
  4. Here's the magic, take a stamping sponge and pick up ink from ink pad. Here I used Regal Rose first, then added Calypso Coral. I like to layer the inks by sponging more in the middle and working outwards.
  5. When you achieve the desired amount of ink coverage, run a tissue over stamped image to get any excess ink off, and voila! out pops your image. It's a reverse out image.
Another tip is to color your rhinestones with a Sharpie. I used a raspberry Sharpie pen and colored the top of it, so cute!
Supplies used:
Stamps: Patterned Occasions
Cardstock: Calypso Coral (one of my faves!), Whisper White, Floral District DSP
Ink: Versamark, Regal Rose and Calypso Coral
Accessories: Embossing buddy, stamping sponges, Apothecary Framelits, 2 1/2" circle punch, Basic Rhinestones, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Adorning Accents folder, oh! and lots of Stampin' Dimensionals
Thanks for sharing with us, Beth!
