Bright and Cheery

I love how bright and cheery this birthday card turned out!
Do you ever have a day when you need a little pick me up?  With a very active preschooler at home and a second grader at school most of the day, my days become a whirlwind most of the time.  Since becoming a stay-at-home mom almost 4 years ago, I have been busier than I ever was as a full-time teacher.  And with those busy days (and nights) comes a few bad days so I need a pick me up from time to time.  Luckily for me, it's usually stamping with my girlfriends but sometimes it's just as easy as making a bright and cheery card like this to give to a friend.

To make this card...
  1. Use Elegant Lines Embossing Folder on Tangerine Tango card stock.
  2. Add a strip of DSP to the bottom of card base.  It could be 1" to 1 1/4" wide by 4 1/4" long.
  3. Cut out 6 circles from DSP using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.
  4. Fold parts of the circle in form a "V" like shape with the two sides folded in.  (Doesn't have to look perfect or make a point at the end when folded.  Just make sure all the circles look approximately the same.)
  5. Lay folded circles onto your card to form a circle shape or a paper flower.
  6. Use a bone folder to crease your lines on your DSP after you have made sure the paper flower fits and looks good.
  7. Attach each folded circle with strong adhesive one at a time to ensure no big gaps in between each paper flower petal (folded circles).
  8. String Baker's Twine through a bright colored button.
  9. Attach button on top of flower (folded DSP circles) using a glue dot (or several glue dots).
  10. Stamp a greeting onto Daffodil Delight card stock.
  11. Cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelits and attach to card base using dimensionals.
  12. Add Rhinestones in parts of embossed card base if you would like to add a little bling.
  13. Write a quick message inside the card and give to someone who may be need a "pick me up."
