Vanilla + Mouthwatering = Fun!

One of my favorite customers is a 6th grade girl.  She is absolutely adorable and she loves to stamp.  She convinced her mom to have a mother/daughter party and did all the planning herself.  She made her own invitations and was so excited.  She wanted me to use her favorite stamp set, Mouthwatering, with the scented embossing powder.  She also told me that her favorite colors were the 2011-2013 in-colors.  So, I felt a lot of pressure to impress and she seemed really excited with what I came up with.
I used a Calypso Coral base with a whisper white layer (5 1/4 x 4) on top of that.  I used the polka dot pattern in Pool Party from the In-Color Patterns Pack.  I stamped the ice cream image twice.  The first time, I inked it up with markers (Pool Party, Soft Suede and Calypso Coral) and stamped it on the white layer.  The second time, I inked it up with versamark and lined it up over the stamped image.  If you are using clear mount stamps, this task is easy.  If you are using wood mount, you definitely will want to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  I then sprinkled the vanilla scented powder over the versamark and heat set it.  And, I am happy to report that 10 days later, it still smells strongly of vanilla.  The final touches were sponging with Soft Suede and stamping the extremely appropriate greeting in Soft Suede from A Word For You stamp set.
