Vintage Papaya Collage

My style is not normally vintage, although this style has definitely been growing on me. Sometimes it's a little tough for me to stamp outside of my comfort zone. (Here's a random thought...Isn't vintage supposed to feel comfortable?) So anyway, when I ordered the Papaya Collage stamp set, I thought this would be the perfect stamp set to attempt some vintage cards. The formula in my head for creating one of these lovely pieces of artwork was Vintage + Collage = Masterpiece! Translated... add many layers of random, old looking images, ribbon or other random stuff. It seems to work for everyone else! Here are the two cards I came up with.

  • Primrose Petals card stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (fold for card base)
  • Soft Suede card stock - 4" x 5 1/4"
  • First Edition DSP (121878) - 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Papaya Collage stamp set (126610 wood/ 126612 clear - available June 1st)
    • Frame image stamped in Soft Suede ink, directly onto the First Edition DSP.
    • Leaves stamped in Crumb Cake ink onto Very Vanilla card stock, 2 1/4" x 3". Edges sponged with Soft Suede ink, then adhered to the frame.
    • Rose image stamped in Primrose Petals ink (126858 - available June 1st) onto scrap Vanilla card stock and cut out.
  • Fabulous Phrases stamp set, stamped in Primrose Petals ink, onto 1/2" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla, edges sponged with Primrose Petals.
  • Crochet Trim ribbon (ribbon pictured is retiring, but similar is available, Victoria 118481)
  • Secure bow with an Antique Brad (117273), and adhere to card using a glue dot.
Baker's Tip: The Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) will be your fabulous friend, when stamping 'fabulous friend' or other sentiment on this little strip!

Vintage Birthday!

  • Cherry Cobbler card stock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (fold)
  • First Edition DSP - 3" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic Black card stock - 3 1/8" x 4 7/8"
  • Very Vanilla card stock 3" x 4 3/4"
  • Papaya Collage stamp set
    • Bird stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black marker for the eye
    • Butterfly stamped in Basic Black
    • Rose stamped in Cherry Cobbler
    • Hat stamped in Basic Black, cut out and popped with a Dimensional
  • Basic Pearls used to embellish the butterfly and to create fun necklace!
Baker's Tip: Use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to perfectly place your frame, or cut a slightly larger piece of Vanilla card stock, stamp the frame, and then trim to size.
