Handmade Gifts

I love when my mom says to me, "I need a $5 gift idea.  Do you have any thoughts?"  She is not a stamper but she appreciates a pretty handstamped item or card so I gave her some ideas.  She decided that monogrammed note cards were a great idea and I was excited to get started.  My go-to stamp set for monogrammed cards has always been Baroque Motifs but I have used it so much that I needed something else if I was going to be motivated to make 22 sets.  I decided to give Ornate Blossom a try and I immediately fell in love with my creation.  They are extremely simple but sometimes simple is best.  I love these so much that I have decided to make them for end-of-year teacher gifts.  You could recreate these cards with any color combination but if you want to copy mine,  there are a few things that you need to get quick before they retire on the 31st of this month.  The colors (Peach Parfait, Pear Pizazz and Blushing Bride) and stamp (Ornate Blossom) are both on the retirement list.  Lovely Letters and Early Espresso are not retiring, thank goodness!  I cut the card base from the color and then stamped on a whisper white layer (4 x 5 1/4).  I did use the Stamp-a-ma-Jig to make sure the blossom and letter were in the same place on each card.
I packaged them in groups of 6 with envelopes in a clear box and tied them up with soft suede striped grosgrain ribbon
I really like how they turned out and was excited to see how the 22 sets looked all together.  Enjoy!
