Beautiful Season, all year!

I consider myself to be pretty thrifty, and that is an EXTREMELY hard concept to keep in mind when it comes to stamping.  Not because paper products are expensive, ( I have recently started a new hobby- metal stamping, and trust me, paper doesn't even come close to copper or sterling silver!) but because there are SO many beautiful stamp sets out there, it is hard to not buy every bird/flower/tree/insert your weakness here/ stamp that is made.  The thrifty gal in me tells me just because Christmas is over, I don't have to stop using my Christmas stamp sets.

By using some neutral colors, Soft Suede and Night of Navy, to color in the chickadee and berries, I now have a nice, any winter day note card.  It's even gender neutral!  I'm also a big fan of using what I have (that could have more to do with laziness than thriftiness, though).  It's hard to see, since all of my layers are in Whisper White, but I wanted a ticket corner punch on the stamped layer.  Sitting next to me, was not the ticket corner punch, but the small heart punch.  Different punch, same effect.
Ingredients:
  • Whisper White cut to 3 1/4 by 4 1/2.  Stamp sentiment and image in Basic Black ink.  We'll just say "faux ticket corned punch" using the small heart punch on each corner.
  • Stamp image again on scrap paper, punch out the bird's body using the 1 3/8 inch circle punch.
  • Use blender pen and Soft Suede, Night of Navy to color in the punched circle.
  • Adhere the circle onto the layer using dimensionals.
  • Cut 2nd layer in Whisper White to 3 3/4 by 5 inches.  Use the piercing tool and guide to pierce 3 holes around each corner.
  • Adhere image layer to 2nd layer.
  • Card base is also Whisper White, use dimensionals to adhere to the card base.
